Former NAN Boss Dies Of Cancer

 Dr Nwabu Mgbemena, a one-time Director of the News Agency Of Nigeria (NAN) has died at age 71, reports say that he died of cancer on April 22 in New Jersey, in the United States. This was disclosed by Chief Tony Idigo, his close friend.
 According to NAN, Dr Mgebemena was one of the pioneer editors of NAN, saying that he served as the Managing Director for two terms, starting from January 1985 to January 1994.
 Mgbemena was one of the original nine editors employed at the take-off of NAN, the nine editors includded Olufemi Adefala, Nwabu Mgbemena, Sani Sambo, Wada Maida, Dave Igiewe, Godwin Omole, Toye Olofintuyi, Willie Bozimo and Chukwura Ezebube.
 Many members of staff of NAN expressed shock on hearing about the death of Mgbemena. Some of the staff of NAN made a statement describing Dr Mgbemena as a Journalist and journalism teacher, and a person who used what his experience to consolidate the achievements of the first management of the News Agency of Nigeria.
 Late Mgbemena's daughter Nkiru told NAN that her dad's remains would be brought to their country home at Obosi in Anambra state, Nigera at a later date
