In hacking, there's known to be white-hackers and black-hackers. But here it seems Facebook has just got a white-hacker named Orange Tsai.
Orange said he discovered a vulnerability (loophole) in Facebook's server, which would be possible for a backdoor to be opened for staff usernames and passwords to be extracted and believed that someone had already accessed the information.
Orange Tsai discovered this vulnerability in February and told Facebook's Security Team about it. According to source, He was rewarded with $10,000 for his efforts and Facebook has already resolved the issue (closed the loophole).
According to Irish Independent; Facebook's Reginaldo Silva (a Security Engineer) revealed that the backdoor was added by another bounty hunting security researcher.
Engineer Silva said " Neither of them were able to compromise other parts of our infrastructure,  so the way we see it, it's like a double win: two competent researchers assessed the system, one of them reported what he found to us and got a good bounty, none of them were able to escalate access."
