Over 3 Billion Are At Risk Of malaria Globally- Says WHO

The World Health Organisation(WHO) in a report entitled "Eliminating Malaria" which was released on Monday, has stated that their are about 3.2 billion people globally, that were at risk to the disease Malaria. This was stated while marking the World Malaria Day which is observed every 25th of April.
 The statement issued by WHO, explained that in 2015 alone, 214 million new cases of the disease were reported in 95 countries and no fewer than 400,000 people died of Malaria.
 It added that the "Global Technical strategy for Malaria 2016-2030" approved by the World Health Assembly in 2015, calls for the elimination of local transmission of Malaria in at least ten countries by 2020.
 They added that, in order to further progress against malaria, new technology tools would be needed. They said "Since the year 2000, it showed that Malaria mortality rates have declined by 60 percent globally."
 It said that governments must strengthen surveillance of cases to identify gaps in coverage and be prepared to take action based on the information they received.
