The Seme Command of the Nigeria  Customs Service in Lagos, has stated on Friday that it seized over 2,000 bags of smuggled rice with value of N23.9 million.
Mr. Victor Dimka, the Controller said in a statement at Seme border that it was seized by means of intelligence gathering.
He said "The bags of rice were smuggled into the country from Benin Republic through the  Ere creek in Ikoya and they were stored in an uncompleted building in the area.
He added that "They came in through the water because the road leading to Seme border has been "fortified' against smuggling by officials of the command."
