NNPC Lost N51 Billion Due To Over 1000 Pipeline Vandalisations Within 5 Months-Baru

 Dr. Maikanti Kacalla Baru, the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has on Wednesday announced that the corporation lost over N51 billion due to about 1,447 cases of pipeline vandalisation that occured between the first 5 months of 2016 (January-May).

 According to Thisday, the GMD stated that this led to the loss of close to 109 million litres of petroleum products and 560,000 barrels of crude oil that would have being refined.
 Dr. Baru lamented this during a courtesy visit to the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Muhammadu Gama in Abuja on Wednesday.
