Lagos Task Force Arrests Mother and Son For Begging On The Street

A 40 year old named Chinagoro Uwenke and her 11 year old son has being arrested by some operatives of the Lagos State Task Force for allegedly forming fake begging on the streets of Lagos.




 According to source, the Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, SP Olayinka Egebyemi stated that there were many fake beggars pretending and deceiving unsuspecting members of the pubic, forming fake illness and diseases.



 The 40 year old woman while confessing, said that she tied her son’s leg with two rolls of white bandages and poured GV blue ink on the leg daily in order to soften the heart of the members of the public to give arms o help the boy.

 She said they lived at Oloko-Danna near Ijora-olopa area at Oyingbo, that she stopped her son from going to school in order to begin street begging, since she realized it was bringing in profit. She said she makes from N3,500 to N5,000 daily on the activity.


 The Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force stated that the agency was partnering with relevant government Ministries, agencies and Departments (MDAs) to get rid of fake beggars on the streets.
