Fulani Herdsmen Arrested Over Alleged Kidnapping

Two herdsmen named Usman Muhammed and Manu Saleh has being remanded in prison custody on Wednesday by the Wuse Zone 2 Chief magistrates’ Court in Abuja over alleged kidnapping.
 The duos were arraigned on a three-count charge of criminal conspiracy, causing grievous hurt and kidnapping.
 The senior magistrate, Mohammed Tahir ordered for the defendants to be remanded and adjourned hearing till December 8th, 2016.




 The prosecutor, Gambo Musa, had earlier told the court that one Saidu Adamu of Gwagwalada village in Abuja reported the matter at the Nigerian Mobile Police (Mopol) team in Abuja on November 21.
 Musa added that the defendants kidnapped the complainant and his son sometime in October.
 The Prosecutor said that the complainant’s son also attempted to escape and after successfully escaping, they came back on November 18th and used cutlass to hit the complainant’s hand and head and kidnapped his wife.

 Musa said that the defendants kept the complainant’s wife in the bush for two days and demanded a ransom of N1 million but she later escaped on her own.
 So therefore, the defendants’ offences contravened Section 97, 247 and 273 of the penal Code.
 The phones used by the two defendants were recovered and would be used for further investigations by the police.
