Nigerian Navy Has Deployed 4 Warships and Thousands of Troops to Solve The Issue Of Piracy, Oil Theft and Others

Rear Admiral James Oluwole, the Flag Officer commanding Eastern Naval Command has announced that four warships named Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Okpahana, Nigerian Navy Ship Ologbo, Nigerian Navy Ship Burutu and Nigerian Navy Ship Sagbama and 3,400 troops have being deployed to tackle piracy, oil theft and  vandalism of critical oil and gas installations of Nigeria’s maritime environment.



 Rear Admiral Oluwole revealed this on Thursday in Onne, Rivers State, saying that “The exercise is an annual event for the employment of naval resources in training for maritime operations, either exploring the effects of warfare or testing strategies without actual combat.



 He added that “The exercise will enhance the capacity of the command in the fight against piracy, sea robbery, hijacking, illegal bunkering and crude oil theft, among other maritime crimes.”
