GOC Orders Soldiers to deal With Cultists, Killer Herdsmen and Violent Agitators In Anambra State
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division
Nigerian Army, Major General Adamu Abubakar on Thursday while he visited 34
Brigade Owerri where he was briefed by the brigade Commander, Brigadier General
Kay Ishiaku on Thursday and also in 302 artillery General regiment and 14 Riesa
Engineer Regiment Onitsha, urged officers and soldiers of units to remain
resolute and committed to their duties.
A statement
by Colonel Sager Musa, Deputy Director Army Public Relations quoted the GOC saying
“Your responsibility here is to ensure the security of Anambra state by denying
armed robbers, rampaging herdsmen, kidnappers, cultists, violent agitators and
other criminal the freedom of action.
“As the Chief
of Army Staff is highly committed to troops’ welfare in the areas of hospitals,
uniforms/kits, accommodation, salaries and allowances, we therefore have no
reason to allow breakdown of law and order in our respective Areas of
Operations” the GOC warned.
