Two German Archaeologist Kidnapped in Kaduna Have being released
German archaeologists,
Peter Breunig and Johannes Buringer who were working in collaboration with the
National Commission for Museum and Monuments on relics of NOK Culture in
Nigeria, were kidnapped at an excavation site at Janjala area of Kagarko Local
Government Area of Kaduna.
The two were
reportedly rescued on Saturday night.
Recall that
the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, last week ordered Special
Forces to secure the release of the two foreigners.
A source
revealed that no ransom was paid to secure release of the captives.
The Force headquarters
is expected to issue an official statement on the development later in the day.
