Nigeria’s Economy Is Gradually Bouncing Back-Buhari
Muhammadu
Buhari , the President of Nigeria has described the last farming season as
quite good, saying the Nigerian economy is “gradually reviving.”
He spoke at
the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja yesterday while receiving in a
farewell audience, the outgoing Ambassador of the Royal Embassy of Saudi
Arabia, Fahad Bin Abdullah Sefyan.
President
Buhari also described the relationship between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia as
mutually beneficial, which he said, should grow stronger in the years to come.
He said
apart from visiting Mecca and Medina for religious reasons, a lot of Nigerians
were in Saudi Arabian universities.
Sefyan, who
spent 20 months on tour of duty, had said that he loved it in Nigeria and would
have wanted to stay longer, were he not due for retirement.
He commended
President Buhari for visiting Saudi Arabia last February and urged that there
should be reciprocal visits between leaders of both countries.
The outgoing
envoy said Buhari was doing well on the security situation in Nigeria. “We know
what you have done with Boko Haram, and we applaud you,” he stated.
