5 Nigerian States to receive Mini-solar plants

At least five Nigerian states are to build solar-powered mini-grids that would help the Federal Government's efforts in improving electricity generation and supply.

The states that are to receive the mini-solar plants include Rivers, Kaduna, Imo, Delta and Ogun. They are partnering with Greenelec, a France-based solar energy solution provider.

Marvel Hochet, the President off Greenelec, said the use of solar-powered mini grids, would help in increasing access to electricity in Nigeria, as well as boost the energy mix initiative that was introduced by the Federal Government.
