Male Teachers Should Be removed from female Schools
A
Non-Governmental organisation (NGO) in Bauchi state named Fahimta Women and
Youth Development Initiative (FAWOYDI) has called on Bauchi state government to
remove male teachers teaching in all female boarding schools across the state.
The group
made this known on Saturday during the State Level, Sensitization Meeting for
the establishment of Girls for Girls (G4G) held at General Hasssan Usman
Katsina Unity College, Bauchi.
The programme is being carried out in
collaboration with UNICEF and the FG with fundings from the UK Department for
International Development (DFID).
The FAWOYDI President, Hajiya Maryam Garba, said
the lives of female students in such schools were not entirely safe in the hand
of male teachers.
