Fani-Kayode insists African Leaders must rise against modern slave trade in Libya
Femi
Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, on Tuesday called on African leaders to
condemn the modern slave trade in Libya.
Sharing a
footage of someone roasted alive while an alleged police officer was standing
by, the former Minister said that’s what Libyans do to fellow Africans looking
to transit to Europe.
The former
Minister claimed that Africans are sold into slavery, mutilated, tortured or
worked to death by the Libyans.
In a tweet
via his social media handle, the PDP Chieftain wrote: “Roasted alive! This is
what Libyans do to sub-saharan Africans who are looking for a transit point to
Europe.
“They sell
them into slavery and either murder, mutilate, torture or work them to death.
All this yet not a word of condemnation from @MBuhari or other African
leaders!.”
Fani-Kayode,
had yesterday faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s silence over the sale of
some Nigerians in Libya.
He wondered
why Buhari was yet to speak on the modern day slave trade involving his
citizens.
