5 die after Boko Haram during night attack on Adamawa village
Boko Haram
militants Thursday night killed five persons in Kaya village near Gulak town,
Madagali LGA of Adamawa State.
Residents told Daily Trust that the militants
sneaked into the village and shot the five people to death.
A vigilante
member said many residents fled to the bush but returned the following morning.
The council
chairman, Muhammad Yusuf, who confirmed the deaths, lamented the surge in
attacks on the people of Madagali.
He said the
residents were planning to leave en mass due to several attacks in the last one
month. He urged the federal government to deploy more soldiers and equipment to
protect lives and property. Madagali which has borders with Cameroon and Borno,
is on the fringes of Sambisa Forest.
