Transfer news: Arsenal ready to break transfer record for Aubameyang
Arsenal is set
to follow up the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with a record-breaking bid for
Borussia Dortmund striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Dortmund
have already confirmed that the Gunners have contacted them about the player,
but had a £45m offer turned down by the Bundesliga club.
But Arsenal
are ready to go above the £52m they paid for Alexandre Lacazette last summer,
to get a deal done for Aubameyang.
Dortmund
have also asked about Olivier Giroud being part of the deal.
However, a
straight cash deal is still being discussed, with Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger privately
convinced that the Aubameyang deal is very close.
Arsenal is negotiating
with Mesut Ozil about a new deal and is ready to break the £200,000-a-week
barrier to sign both Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang.
