Osun decides: PDP speaks on Adeleke withdrawing from governorship race
The Osun
State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Soji Adagunodo, on Friday
said the party’s governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke, was still in the
race.
He said this
during a media briefing in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Friday.
According to
him, there was a text message being circulated that Adeleke had withdrawn from
contesting the election.
He stated
that the information was completely false and was intended to dissuade
electorate from casting their votes for Adeleke.
Adagunodo
said, “There is a text message going around. It is a tactic by the candidate of
the Social Democratic Party to discourage voters from coming out to vote or to
use it to curry sympathy or to make people feel that he is the one running now.
“Our
candidate has never merged or stepped down for anybody. We are not even
discussing such.
“We are the
main candidate. Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke is contesting and he is going
to win the election.
“There is no
merger and no withdrawal in any form.”
