Soldiers’ killings: Remove service chiefs, Ohanaeze youths tell Buhari
The Ohanaeze Youth Council yesterday expressed concern over the recent killing of over 100 soldiers in Borno State by Boko Haram and asked President Muhammadu Buhari to issue compulsory retirement to all the serving chiefs and top military commanders in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The
president of the council, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, made the call in a
statement.
“We also
urge President Muhammadu Buhari to issue compulsory retirement to all service chiefs and replace
them with capable officers so as to restore the confidence of Nigerians and our
soldiers particularly those at the battle field in the northeast.
“If
possible, let him borrow a leave from former President of United State of
America, George Bush in dealing with terrorists”, he said.
He added
that the porous nature of Nigeria’s borders hindered operations of the security
operatives in the northeast.
